Description

Experience the thrill of wheel thrown pottery. Attend solo, or book in a group of friends and get ready to make some mess.

This 2.5 hour session will show you how to tame the clay! Our experienced tutors will guide participants through the basics of throwing small forms. Learn how to centre a ball of clay on the wheel in motion, and form a cylinder or bowl, or even a wonky dish.

These sessions are a great way to get a feel for clay – either as a test run to undertaking a 6 week course, or as a few hours of fun with friends.

This workshop includes all clay, tool and materials, and the glazing and firing of one piece of work each. This includes two firings (bisque and glaze) and glazing by our technician. NPS staff will email students when work is ready for collection.

All classes will have a maximum of 10 participants and students will be using Northcote Pottery Filtered Stoneware Clay.

This class is not refundable or transferable. These workshops are aimed at adults, the minimum age is 18 years old. Children aged 15 + may attend if accompanied by a fee paying adult.

Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty. You will need to bring along your own towel and apron for the workshop – as wheel throwing can be messy!
