Description

Not sure if you want to learn wheel throwing or hand building? This is the course for you!

Our unique six week Clay Taster Course introduces students to the medium of clay by exploring both hand building and wheel throwing techniques. The course starts with the fundamental handbuilding techniques of pinching, coiling and slab building in which students can explore form and texture. Students are then taught the processes involved in wheel throwing, such as wedging clay, centering, throwing cylindrical and bowl forms and turning. The course will conclude with an overview of decorative techniques and their application. Ideal for beginners, this course will definitely give you a great ‘taste’ for clay!
