Description
In this six-week course you will explore intuitive approaches to creating original works of design and stand-alone sculpture. Throughout the course, Kate will facilitate exercises that help you to tap into your creative subconscious whilst developing skills in pinching, coiling, slab-building and carving. Along the way, she’ll guide you through big-picture artistic principles that define successful works of art and design. Students will leave the course with a host of new creative tools and techniques and a few original works of art to show for it.
While the first few weeks of the course will be more structured, in latter weeks, students are invited to work independently on their own projects with support from the instructor.
The cost of this course includes one bag of clay, use of tools, firing, and all materials for decorating and glazing. Our pottery supply shop stocks a wide variety of products should you wish to explore further, and staff are always happy to help guide you.
Please bring along your own towel and apron. Covered shoes are essential.
