Description
This is a unique chance to explore clay and handbuilding through feeling and the unconscious.
Our experienced tutor Kate Butler will introduce intuitive techniques for building sculptural forms in clay. Students will pinch-and-carve small sculptural pieces and learn how to build medium-to-large scale vases and abstract sculptures using press-molds. While introducing techniques and methods for developing and building new forms, Kate will cover fundamentals of art and sculpture with reference to significant ceramic artists and works.
The workshop includes all clay, materials and tools, and the firing and glazing of 1-2 pieces each.
