In this 1.5 hour class children will create a monster using a simple pinch pot as a base. Under the guidance of our experienced tutor, children will be guided through making a pinch pot, which will be used as an open mouth. Children will then be shown how to add teeth, tongues, eyes, spikes etc to the pinch pot to create a unique monster.
This is an opportunity for young children to explore and play with clay, developing their skills to match their imagination. The cost of this course includes access to Northcote Pottery Supplies Stoneware clay, all materials and tools required, and the firing and glazing of your work.
Parents are welcome to stay during activities or can enjoy a coffee or tea on Lygon Street, a short stroll away.
Ella Bendrups is a ceramic artist who creates innate forms refined for a modern context. Ella’s practice explores ancient clay and stone artefacts and their ability to transcend the times and cultures in which they were created. She embraces the expressive nature of hand building, pinching, coiling and carving clay to highlight the maker’s touch.
With a background in styling supported by studies in Communication Design and Interior Design and Decoration at RMIT University, Ella began social ceramics classes in late 2015 before progressing to a self-led explorative practice. In clay, she has found a medium through which she can express herself artistically and centre herself.
